30 Day Wellness Challenge - Week 4 & 5

30 Day Wellness Challenge We're onto week five (!!!) of the Wellness Challenge! Have you managed a challenge each week? Perhaps you've managed a few! Let us know what you've been getting up to so we know how you've found it. Let's recap the challenges from the last week where we focussed on 'Giving to others'. Week 4 - Give to others Feel free to start on the 30 day challenge even if you've joined us a little late, all the info can be found over on our  instagram page  and the  BBC Website . Giving to others doesn't have to be something expensive or even take lots of planning, you can throw out smiles and compliments... jokes might take a little planning though! Don't want to pull a Marlin If you have a little more time you could spend some time volunteering in your local community. We actually had a call for volunteers from the Greenham Trust  to help out with their 10k and family fun runs! Perhaps you can help out...

How long have you been in your respective discipline(s)? I started working in the fitness industry 16 years ago. What inspired you to become an instructor? I was working at a gym while I was at Uni – and loved attending classes – so decided to qualify! What’s the most important thing about instructing for you? Making sure people get a safe, effective and fun workout! What’s a favourite move of yours that might be seen as underrated to others? I love a good Nina’s trick on fabric! There are so many variations! How do you get out of a funk or get your mojo back? I start to cross-train a new discipline. It’s always so rewarding to learn new skills and it stops out getting frustrated! What are your best tips and tricks for putting together a routine? 30 Day Wellness Challenge The second week of the Wellness Challenge is over and we're eager to know how you found it. This week (Week 2) was all about keeping active! It's ok if you've found the challenges hard, or if you've not been able to do every one. The point of the challenge is to have one or two takeaways for you to adopt into your daily life to promote better mental wellness. It goes for most 30 day challenges, you're attempting to embrace a new lifestyle change that will ultimately have a positive effect on your mental wellness. Name: Bambi Newport Age: 38 What do you teach? Pole, Hoop, Silks, Pole Silks, Sling Children’s Pole & Aerial How long have you been in your respective discipline(s)? I started pole before it became a structured fitness activity (I remember when twisty grip came in and 50mm poles were standard!), but have properly been poling since 2011. I first tried hoop and silks over 10 years ago and have been regularly training both for five, maybe six, years. What inspired you to become an instructor? I wanted to be able to help others learn and achieve, and to develop my own knowledge of the disciplines. What’s the most important thing about instructing for you? I love the rewarding feeling of helping people achieve things they never thought they would, and for being in a position to share my knowledge with others. 30 Day Wellness Challenge The first week of the Wellness Challenge is over and we're eager to know how you found it. Don't worry if you didn't get round to doing something everyday. The point of this challenge is to find one or two takeaways for you adopt into your day to day life in order to promote better mental wellness. Love of aerials and wanting to spread that love! It's very rewarding when your students achieve things that they've been working on for a while and I really enjoy seeing them progress. What’s the most important thing about instructing for you? Making sure my students have a great time and achieve their goals in a safe and supportive way.
