Instructor Profile - Sally

This week we chat with Sally and breaking no illusions our students have of her... Sally is our "laughing into a mirror, cocoon sleeping and castle dwelling" silks instructor.

Name:

Sally Lamacraft-Perrett

Age:

27

What do you teach?

Silks!

How long have you been in your respective discipline(s)?

I started aerials in January 2015, so about 4 years!

What inspired you to become an instructor?

[Amy] Capper made me do it.

What’s the most important thing about instructing for you?

That no one dies… Then making sure people have fun doing things they never thought they could!

What’s a favourite move of yours that might be seen as underrated to others?

Belay! I LOVE belays.

How do you get out of a funk or get your mojo back?

Mix it up, go to workshops, be taught by different instructors, try a different discipline!

What are your best tips and tricks for putting together a routine?

Don't be afraid of freestyle, it can be really fun and you may find new and pretty transitions!

If you owned a restaurant, what kind of food would it serve?

Italian. But with good tea options.

If you owned an ice cream truck, what tune would it play?

Old school Tetris theme. ALL DAY. [Could only find 10 hours, sorry Sally!]

What’s your day job?

I'm a programmer for wealth management software! I know a lot about tax. Really fun at parties.

What is something you’ve never tried but would like to?

Flying trapeze! Looks TERRIFYING.

What do you wish you knew more about/of?

I wish I remembered more of my degree!

What are some small things that can make your day better?

Tea! Milk, no sugar, thanks. Or cuddles from the cat.

Tell us something we probably don’t know about you:

When I was little we had two pet tortoises!
